SWTF - Luke Skywalker (Snowspeeder) Review

Excellent vehicle mode! Straightforward transformation! Spindly robot mode with a LOT of backpack and limited articulation! Very mildly recommended! BACKGROUND FACTS: The only reason this didn't get a rating of 'Neutral' or worse was due the strength of the vehicle mode. For such an iconic character in the SW saga, this toy is one of the weakest to come from the Crossovers range. I had trouble reviewing him because he kept falling over, due to his massive backpack.

Collecting World of Warcraft Action Figures

The game World Of Warcraft is an online game played by over 10 million people. This popular game introduced in 2004 by Blizzard Entertainment also has many products and services to enhance the online gaming experience and to identify with the characters of this highly popular game.

The World Of Warcraft (WOW) Action Figures created by DC Direct a DC Unlimited product, introduced it's first series of figures in October of 2007. At the time of the launch for the first four series, the products sold out in just a few days. The first series introduced include:

* Orc Shaman-Rehgar EarthFury
* Blood Elf Rogue-Valeera Sanguinar
* Dwarf Warrior-Thargas Anvilmar
* Undead Warlock-Meryl Felstrom

These beautiful pieces stand between 4 1/2 to 8 1/2 inches tall. The deluxe model Illidan demon figure stands at almost a foot tall! A few of them have flexible poses and additional accessories to create the full character. The Toy Fair 2009 offered a sneak peak of Series 5. These action figures were released in October 2009.

Look out for Series 6 to be released on March 31, 2010. The new WOW figures will include:

* Goblin Tinker-Gibzz Sparklighter
* Dwarven King-Magni Bronzebeard
* Forsake Queen-Sylvanas Windrunner

Can you imagine that if these items are selling out the way they are, that there must be some value in them. Whether you are an avid collector or skilled gamer, you don't want to miss out on the opportunity to own these very detailed and well sculptured characters. Think back to when you were a child and you used to play with your GI Joe and Transformers . Those were the days when you had those cheap plastic molded characters that you used and abused in your playtime with your friends. The World of Warcraft action figures are not a toy for the little boy or girl; they should be handled with care and treated as a collectible. Keep them well protected and away from children. Don't let them collect dust on a bookshelf somewhere. These beautiful and intricate pieces should be well displayed and admired by others.

Transformers Crossovers Venom

Venom is the last of the currently available Marvel Transformers. I think there will be a few more available later this year. If anyone wonders if they should buy the Crossover Transformers, I say YES. They are much, much better than the Star Wars Transformers. They're much larger and more articulated than the usual deluxe transformers, and they have really cool transformations. Plus, they seem to have fewer quality defects than the rest of the transformers line. And they're only $15 bucks each. Venom is probably my favorite. His vehicle mode and super-tricky transformation remind me of the alternators transformers. I can't figure out the best way to position his chest plate, though. If I clip it into his belt buckle he's too hunched forward, or I have to tilt his pelvis way back. Still he's a really cool toy, and the closest thing you can buy to a new Alternator transformer.

Online Games For Female Gamers

Over the years in the online gaming industry, the majority of video game products generally caters on male gamers. In fact, there have been many action-oriented games led by male protagonists. Presently, the video game industry opens its doors to female gamers and designed games to cater the needs of these female enthusiasts. However, games for girls aren't similar to what video games generally embody.

Of course, when it comes to girls the design and style are usually in pink with sparkles or something with "girly" pallete of color accompanied by a design that has animated girls on the cover having fun together. Usually, the subject matter of girls' video games involves household chores or other stereotypical activities as well as behavior attributed to females. Cooking Mama, Fashion Designer, Diss and Make Up and The Clique are few examples of games designed for girls. On the other hand, there are games with a girl protagonist that's drastically different from a game for a girl. Such are Grand Theft Auto and Metroid.

It's not like the video game industry is a entirely sexist domain that exempts girls from joining in. As a matter of fact, a lot of well-known games like Super Mario and Tetris are unisex and many girls have grown up playing them. Actually, there is no problem with girls playing "masculine" games like Transformers or Zelda. However, it would be disturbing to see guys playing Hannah Montana or Pony Friends, right?

Indeed, there are many girls out there that enjoy "feminine" activities and enjoy video games for girls available on the market. If not then, certainly no game providers would produce and make any money from them. The only issue still in existence in the video game industry is the notion that girls would only want to play girly games. Considering the number of women working in the these industry, one would certainly think that they would have a say in what sorts of games recently released on the market, or at least they would say something about it. Perhaps we can't say for certain what is going on behind the scenes, but indeed, there are a lot of girls that are sick of the video game industry's interpretation of what games for girls should be. Sure, girls may cook and care a lot about fashion but sometimes they like to shoot things up just like boys do.

Review - Star Wars Transformers Crossover Darth Vader Tie Advanced Part 1

From the Star Wars Transformers Crossovers series, here's my review of the Darth Vader Tie Advanced/Fighter figure. Make sure you view part 2 for the rest. Heath Ledger as Han Solo: Oh yea, sure it was - and I'm George Bush *sarcasm*. Heath Ledger died this year in January aged 28... The name I was looking for was Harrison Ford. Pretty obvious. I guess I couldn't remember and both beginning with H, the name Heath Ledger that I had recently heard stuck in my mind.
